DECLARING FRIDAY, 28 NOVEMBER 2014, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SARANGANI

WHEREAS, the Province of Sarangani will celebrate its 22nd Foundation Day anniversary and 12th Munato Festival on Friday, 28 November 2014;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Sarangani be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Friday, 28 November 2014, as a special (non-working) day in the Province of Sarangani.

At 10:30 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “QUEENIE” was estimated based on all available data at 220 km North Northwest of Puerto Princesa City (11.2°N, 117.4°E).

Strength: Maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 26 kph.

Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm "QUEENIE" is expected to exit the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in between 9 or 10 PM tonight. By tomorrow morning, it is expected to be at 710 jm West northwest of Puerto Princesa City.


At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “QUEENIE” was estimated based on all available data at 120 km North of Puerto Princesa City (10.9°N, 118.9°E).

Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center.

Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph.

Forecast Positions: “QUEENIE” is now over the western coast of northern Palawan and moving towards the west Philippine sea. By tomorrow morning, it is expected to be at 620 km West Northwest of Pureto Princesa City, and will exit the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in between 7 or 8 PM. By Saturday morning, it is expected to be at 1, 230 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City.

At 10:00 am today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 770 km East of Davao City (6.7˚N, 132.8˚E). 

This weather system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao and Eastern and Central Visayas within 24 hours. 
The general Public and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and to continue monitoring for the updates to be incorporated in the Public Weather Forecast at 5:00 pm today and for the next advisory to be issued at 11:00 am tomorrow.
