Weather Today – October 4, 2017

Yesterday, a new Low Pressure Area has developed inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). According to PAGASA, although it has a slim chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone, it will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Ilocos and Aurora. At 3:00 AM, it was spotted at 420 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.

Rains will prevail in some parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas due to the effect of the ITCZ. Residents of Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan should prepare for cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have generally fair weather but still with a chance of isolated rains and thunderstorms especially in the latter part of the day.

Compared to the heavy rains that we experienced in the previous days in Metro Manila, PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez explains weather condition is expected to gradually improve due to the movement of the ITCZ.
