Habagat continues to dump rains in Luzon

More areas in Luzon will experience torrential rains as the Hanging Habagat (Southwest Monsoon) prevails in the region. Monsoon rains will be experienced in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan and Zambales. Residents are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides. MIMAROPA, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and CALABARZON will be affected by light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms. Meanwhile, generally fair weather prevails in Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.

Due to the surge of Hanging Habagat, gale warning is hoisted in some seaboards of Luzon. Fisherfolk and those with small seacraft are advised not to venture out, while larger vessels are alerted against rough to very rough sea conditions.

According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Ezra Bulquerin, the country will remain storm-free until the next to two to three days. The Southwest Monsoon is expected to weaken over the weekend.
