Moderate to occasional heavy rains and thunderstorms prevail in Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga and Davao Regions due to the Tropical Cyclone inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
At 10:00 a.m., #DomengPH was located at 675 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph and gustiness up to 60 kph moving north-northwest at 14kph. According to PAGASA weather forecaster Nikos Peñaranda, it may intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm before exiting PAR between Saturday or Sunday.
This weather disturbance is not expected to hit the landmass but may trigger the Hanging Habagat, bringing occasional moderate to heavy rains in the western section of Luzon and Visayas this weekend.
Meanwhile, a new LPA has entered PAR and was last located at 1,193 kilometers east of Luzon. Peñaranda said it may dissipate within the next 48 hours.
Despite the presence of weather disturbances, no gale warning was issued today.
