Possible Tropical Cyclone Henry enters PAR

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of Visayas has dissipated but a new LPA has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Meanwhile at 3:00 a.m. today, the LPA was at 1,030 km east of Basco, Batanes. According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Meno Mendoza, this LPA may intensify into a tropical cyclone within 24 to 48 hours and affect extreme Northern Luzon. The country’s eighth storm this 2018 will be named Henry.

Today, the combined effects of the LPA and the Southwest Monsoon dampen parts of the country. Palawan, Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan and Western Visayas will experience monsoon rains and cause possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rain. In Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon and Eastern Visayas, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced. In the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail.
