At 4:00 a.m., a Low Pressure Area was spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,600 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon. According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Shelly Ignacio, it may intensify into a Tropical Depression, but is not expected to enter PAR.
Meanwhile, the Habagat has intensified, affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
In the next hours, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western and Eastern Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains will be experienced in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, and the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao. Northern and Central Luzon can experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.
Residents are advised to monitor updates from PAGASA as heavy rains are expected in the next days due to the intensified Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
