The Northeasterly Surface Windflow continues to affect Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Quezon, Bicol Region and the rest of MIMAROPA. Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Mindanao and Palawan caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), or the imaginary where winds from Northern and Southern Hemisphere meet. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.

According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Meno Mendoza, a Tropical Storm with international name “Yutu” was spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) 3,375 km east of Mindanao. It is expected to move northward, and will not enter PAR. He also added that cold air brought by the Amihan or Northeast Monsoon will be felt in the last week of October.

No gale warning is issued today.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the imaginary line where winds from the Northern and Southern hemispheres meet, brings cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao. Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Gener Quitlong, two shallow Low-Pressure Areas were spotted east of Visayas and west of Palawan. But these will have no direct effect on the nearby landmasses and are expected to dissipate in the following days.

Although no Gale Warning was issued today, expect moderate to strong waves in the northern coastal areas due to winds brought by the Northeast Monsoon.

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan has slightly weakened but continues to blow through extreme Northern Luzon, while the warm and humid Easterlies, dominate the remaining parts of the country.

In the next hours, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms that may trigger flash floods or landslides. In Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands, cloudy skies with scattered rains will prevail. The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, can enjoy generally fair weather as partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail only with chances of isolated rain showers.

Gale warning has been lifted as well, as Amihan weakens. However, colder days are likely to prevail in February as Siberian winds reintensify.

In today’s interview with PAGASA Weather Forecaster Robert Badrina, he mentioned that no weather disturbance is expected within the next three day.
