As of 2 AM today, the Low Pressure Area or LPA, was last located at 2,275 kms. east of Mindanao. According to PAGASA Weather Forecaster Buddy Javier, the LPA might enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow evening or on Saturday. There is a possibility that it might intensify into a Tropical Depression in the coming hours as it enters our boundary. Chances are, it will make its landfall in the Bicol Region or Eastern Visayas–though there is still the possibility that it will recurve.

5am

Because of the Trough of Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside PAR, light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms prevail in Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN. Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is still affecting the extreme Northern Luzon. Amihan will bring cold weather and light rains in Batanes and the islands of Calayan and Babuyan, while good weather with chances of isolated light rains is expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Fair weather condition will be experienced in the rest of the country.

12359553_1213809551969540_650625313_oThe cloud cluster has developed into a Low Pressure Area, spotted at 2,540 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao. According to PAGASA Meteorologist Jori Loiz, it brings no direct effect on any part of the country; however, the LPA has a chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.

This December, at least one cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine boundary with its forecast track moving mostly across Visayas areas.

Today, light to moderate rain showers will prevail in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon due to the Tail End of a Cold Front. Meanwhile, rain showers in the Bicol region and Eastern Visayas are brought by the easterlies. The Northeast Monsoon will bring light rains over the regions of Cagayan Valley, while isolated light rains are expected in Ilocos and the Cordillera.

In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, isolated rains are still possible within the day, but generally good weather will occur.

The Amihan or Northeast Monsoon rules in Northern Luzon, bringing cold weather and light rains in the Cagayan Valley region, while isolated light rains are possible in the Ilocos region and Codillera.

The Tail End of a Cold Front continues to bring light to moderate rain showers in the regions of Bicol and in the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can look forward to calm and sunny weather. However, light rains are possible in the afternoon or evening.

title

There’s a scientific reason why we eat more during Christmas. Because the

weather is cooler, stocking up on calories is a way to lower our body

temperature. But remember that when it comes to eating, quality trumps

quantity. Choose your calories well, and your Christmas is sure to be healthier

and merrier! Here are five healthy eats perfect for the holiday season.
laing
This Bicolano dish cooked with taro leaves, coconut milk, meat and chili gives

your body instant heat and nutrition. To make it even healthier, you can do away

with the meat altogether. Laing can be very nutritious, with taro leaves that have
dietary fiber that helps in weight loss and lowering blood pressure.

bicol express

Another Bicolano dish that packs heat, this recipe calls for pork, coconut milk

and chili. Don’t scrimp on the coconut milk—it’s chock-full of vitamins,

electrolytes, potassium, calcium and chloride.
taho
This warm breakfast fare is made of soybean custard mixed with brown sugar

syrup and sago. It’s rich in protein, and helps decrease cholesterol levels. In some

studies, it’s said to prevent heart disease.

tablea
Tablea or cocoa tablets are boiled in water, and stirred constantly for it to

thicken. This rich chocolate drink is not only the perfect companion during cold

weather, it also has numerous health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure,

preventing cavities, aiding weight loss and regulating blood sugar levels.

champorado
The tablea makes another appearance in this favorite breakfast item: chocolate

rice porridge or champorado that’s best consumed in cold weather, and topped

with dried fish. Make your champorado healthier and tastier with a dash of

muscovado sugar and calcium-rich milk!
Here’s how to cook the perfect champorado:
* Boil water in a cooking pot.

* Put 2 to 3 tablea, depending on how many servings you are cooking. Let

the tablea dissolve in the boiling water.

* Add the sticky rice. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the

bottom of the pot. Let the rice absorb the water for about 15-25 minutes

in low to medium heat.

* Add and stir in the sugar and milk.
Have a yummy Christmas, everyone!
