Rainy Tuesday with ITCZ

Areas in Southern Luzon will continue to experience the effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), an area where winds coming from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet, resulting in rains in affected areas. The ITCZ is also composed of a series of Low Pressure Areas (LPA), which can develop into weather disturbances.

The presence of ITCZ continues to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, the Bicol Region, and Aurora province. Fair weather condition, with localized thunderstorms, will prevail in the remaining parts of the country.

OCTOBER OVERVIEW

In an interview with PAGASA Weather Forecaster Meno Mendoza, he said that one to two tropical cyclones are expected develop within or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which can hit or miss the country’s landmass.

Based on climatological records, tropical cyclones in October hit Luzon and Visayas.
